Apparently someone on the SYL mailing list found some info about a possible new Infinity release...

Bummer, hey? But anyway, keep your eye on the sounds page for some live Infinity sounds from Melbourne, Australia in the near future.
Just on something totally non-Dev related. Today, the 25th of April
marks ANZAC Day (Australian/New Zealand Army Corps) in commemoration of
all the soldiers from the two countries who fought in times of war over
the last century. You can read more here.

The birth of this site.
There may be a few technical hitches which will hopefully be cleared
up in the next few days. E-mail
me if you see any broken links or technical probs that I may have missed.
New
Australian live photos/reviews will
be coming soon.
As far as ground-breaking news there isn't a lot to go on at the moment. Last months HevyDevy newsletter reported that Dev was having some time off after the Feb. tour to assess his role as an artist. There was also talk of his "Manland" home recording studio being finished soon which will be christened by the new Zimmer's Hole and Punchdrunk albums.
Sources have also said that work is commencing on Strapping Young Lad pt.3 aswell as the long awaited Phycisist album which will see Dev teaming up with Jason Newstead (Metallica/IR8) and the mighty Gene Hoglan (SYL/Infinity). The word is that it will be heavier and more distorted than Strapping (is that humanly possible??) In any case, "BRING IT ON BOYEEZZ!!!!!!".
Also, some people may not know that after the February Australian tour Devin flew to Japan early to record an instructional guitar video while the rest of the band hung out in Melbourne for a few days where Ash Loh-Smith and I met up with the band at a few locations. Jason Filipchuk (keyboardist for the tour) told us the news and also mentioned a possible Front Line Assembly tour of Australia sometime in the future (being that he is a member of the band). Gene also spoke of an acoustic album titled, "Acoustic Nude" that Dev has already recorded but nothing has been since reported about this so he could have been just fucking with us! Hehehehe!
HDR has reported that they will have distribution rights to the video in the future sometime but would like to know how interested anyone is in seeing it. Being a guitar player myself I would LOVE to get my hands on something like this but I think that any Dev fan would enjoy it simply to see the man in front of a camera doing his thing. So let Tracy at HDR know how much you wanna see this and hopefully soon we will all have a copy.
While the rest of the band were still hanging out in Australia, Gene
took the time out to appear on a local metal radio show in Melbourne called
"The Hard Report" on 3RRR 102.7 FM (Sunday nights 10pm-2am). He talked
about his career/upcoming projects, took talkback and spun his favourite
discs for a few hours. I got most of the show on tape so sections may appear
in the sounds page sometime soon. Give me some
time and I might transcribe some of the good parts too. The show also has
a website at the following link:

I picked up the March issue of Metal Hammer (UK) the other day and
their yearly readers poll reports that Dev came in at number 4 in the "Man
of the Year" award closely beaten by James Hetfield (3), Marilyn Manson
(2) and Ozzy Osbourne (1). Nic Lloyd from Morden, Surrey is also featured
in the Superfan File claiming his love of all things Devin. I noticed in
the photo that he has a Devin/Infinity hockey top.
Can anyone tell
me where I can get one of these??
For fans in Melbourne seeking a copy of the Christeen single you
may be in luck. A source has told me there are some German versions of
the single being imported soon. Apparently it was supposed to be the Japanese
version which features the unreleased Infinity tracks (om, Sit On The Mountain,
Processional, Love-load) but there was a mix up and the European version
w/Wild Colonial Boy and Night (Ocean Machine) was ordered instead!
More news on this single soon.
For news on when this site is updated email me and I will include you on the "Disciples of Devin" mailing list.
