JAJARAWONG COUNTRY COTTAGES offers a snug retreat for city dwellers wanting to escape the trappings of modern city life.

Here you have the opportunity to absorb the peace and quiet; interrupted only by the sounds of a myriad of different birds or the mooing of cows on distant hills or the sight of kangaroos grazing within a short distance of your cottage. See wild ducks on dams; hear the laughing kookaburras.

Kangaroos are plentiful in Jajarawong's natural, unspoilt bush setting. Evening sunlight in the forest can be quite a spectacle. "Mornin'! Mornin'! The leaves are all ashine; there's treasure all about the place, an' all of it is mine (C.J. Dennis, "A Morning Song").

Shady areas and tables are provided in ideal locations

One great way to learn about the natural environment is to take our self guided nature walk. The walk takes in some of the most interesting parts of our 73 acre property. A guide book and map make finding the numbered markers easy. At each point you will discover something about the vegetation, the special varieties of wildlife found on our property as well interesting information about the topography and the nearby land marks that can be seen on the distant landscape.

JAJARAWONG is registered with the Department of Natural Resources and Environment and is a unique LAND FOR WILDLIFE property. We have a very strong commitment to the environment and the protection of native forests and wildlife. As a result of this strong commitment we do not own any domestic cats or dogs which play havoc on the natural environment. Our only concession to domesticated animals is four donkeys and a pony that roam around the property.

As a result of our commitment to the environment we do not allow guests to bring any pets.
